The Other Media directory enables you to find and play audio and text files for categories which are not included in the media directories specifically supported by SpeakOn. The Library's directory structure is entirely up to you; you can either add folders that contain media files to the Library or you can place media files in the Library's default folder location.
The following file extensions are supported:
'.wav', '.mp3', '.wma', '.ogg', '.au', '.aiff', '.spx'
The following playlist file extensions are supported:
'.m3u', '.pls', '.wpl' and '.asx' redirect file.
The following streaming standards are supported:
'SHOUTcast', 'Icecast', Windows and Real streaming
Text file extensions supported:
'.txt'
First navigate to the user settings folder:
Windows Vista Seven and Eight
C:\users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\SpeakOn\MediaSuite
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\SpeakOn\MediaSuite
Then using a text editor, open the Other Media settings file:
\app\Other_Media\_Other_Media\config\config.txt
By default the main directory of your Other Media files is set to:
directory=${user.content.dir}/Other_Media
Where the ${user.content.dir} is set by default to
Windows Vista Seven and Eight
C:\users\yourusername\My_SpeakOn_Media
Windows XP
C:\yourusername\My_SpeakOn_Media
Do not modify this setting.
