Regardless of whether you select a single file, a playlist or a directory for playing, tracks are presented in the Player as a playlist.
Selecting a directory, whether it is an album or an artist, is probably the most common scenario but what if you want to make your own playlist mixture? This can be easily done as follows:
Make sure the focus is on the Library.
With the focus on the Music directory, select from the menu:
Edit > Load Player with empty playlist.
This will make sure that the Player's playlist is empty.
Locate under the Music directory either a single file, a playlist or a playable directory.
Press the # 'Select' [Shift + Enter] (5 long) key; you will be notified that your selection has been added to the playlist.
Add as many single files, playlists or playable directories as you wish as described above.
Press the 'Focus' [Tab] (3) key to move the focus to the Player. You can either start to play, select play options such as shuffle, repeat etc from the Main menu or you can edit the playlist as described below.
Make sure the focus is on the Player.
You can move a track from its location in the playlist to another one by using Cut and Paste; first with the focus on the track you want to move, press the 'Cut' [Ctrl + x] key. Move to a new location for the track and press 'Paste' [Ctrl + v] to paste the track to a location above the track in focus.
You can copy a track to more than one location in the playlist by using Copy and Paste; first with the focus on the track you want to copy, press the 'Copy' [Ctrl + c] key. Move to another location for the track and press 'Paste' [Ctrl + v] to paste a copy of the track to a location above the track in focus.
You can delete a track from a playlist from the Main menu by selecting:
Edit > Delete current track
This only removes the track from the playlist - the track itself (the audio file) remains intact)
You can change the name of a track from the Main menu by selecting:
Edit > Rename current track
This changes the name of the track in the playlist only and any audio file tags are not affected.
When you create your own mixed playlist the name of the playlist is set to Mixed. If you end the Music task, when you start it again, the Player starts to play from the first track in the mixed playlist. The current Mixed playlist is preserved until you select something else to play and if you do, your mixed playlist is lost (only the playlist is deleted, the audio files remain intact).
If you want to preserve your Mixed playlist, you need to save it. This operation and opening an external playlist are described in the following page.
