This page explains customization available for RNIB Newsagent network guides
The RNIB Newsagent Guide Customization task can be started from the RNIB Newsagent eText task Main menu:
Settings > RNIB Newsagent Guides Customization
This task contains two controls; the Available Guides list control and the Restore Default button control. When you start this task, the focus is placed at the Available Guides list control which is the first control in this task.
The Available Guides list control allows you to choose the required guide to customize.
The following four items are available in this list:
Digital Guide, Channels - Use this option to select the channels you are interested in for this RNIB Newsagent guide. By default, all channels are enabled.
Radio Guide, Stations - Use this option to select the stations you are interested in for this RNIB Newsagent guide. By default, all stations are enabled.
Satellite and Cable Guide, Channels - Use this option to select the channels you are interested in for this RNIB Newsagent guide. By default, all channels are enabled.
Terrestrial Television Guide, Channels - Use this option to select the channels you are interested in for this RNIB Newsagent guide. By default, all channels are enabled.
XL Radio Guide, Channels - Use this option to select the channels you are interested in for this RNIB Newsagent guide. By default, all channels are enabled.
XL Television Guide, Channels - Use this option to select the channels you are interested in for this RNIB Newsagent guide. By default, all channels are enabled.
Scroll up and down the list and find the guide you want to customize.
Press 'Select' [Enter] (5) to select a guide to customize; the Select and Confirm task opens. This task contains one control; the Available Features check-list control.
Scroll up and down the list to the feature you want to modify and then press the 'Select' key to enable or disable it.
When you complete your modifications, press the 'Menu' [Alt] (9) key to bring up the Main menu. Select the OK menu item to confirm your settings or select the Cancel menu item to cancel the operation. The Select and Confirm task ends and you are placed back in the RNIB Newsagent Guides Customization task.
This second control in the VI Services Settings task enables you to restore the settings to the default settings ie. the original settings that SpeakOn comes with when you installed it for the first time.
To restore a setting to its default value, first locate the item you want to restore in the Available Guides list control. Then press the 'Focus' [Tab] (3) key to move the focus to the Restore Default action control and select it using the 'Select' key.
You can move the focus back to the Available Guides list control using as usual the 'Focus' key. Select another item you want to modify and use the relevant procedure outlined above to modify its settings.
When you have finished, bring up the Main menu by pressing the 'Menu' [Alt] (9) key and select the 'End task, return to Manager' menu item. The RNIB Newsagent eText task ends and you are placed back in the Manager task.
